Cancellations, Refunds & Rescheduling
Because all Romancing Manhattan experiences are customized and may involve advance arrangements with transportation providers, venues, guides, or other partners, cancellation terms will vary depending on the experience.
The following policies outline the general guidelines that apply to bookings made with Romancing Manhattan. Any experience-specific cancellation terms will be clearly noted on the individual experience page and at the time of booking.
Experience-Specific Policies
Many of our experiences are highly customized and may include arrangements with third-party providers such as transportation services, venues, restaurants, or other partners.
For this reason, cancellation policies will vary depending on the specific experience booked.
Please review our cancellation & refund policies below as they relate to the specific items in your booking:
Private Touring Services (Guide & Vehicle)
Cancellations made 72 hours or more prior to the scheduled start time will receive a full refund, less a 4% credit card processing fee. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable. This applies to private guided museum tours as well.
Transportation
Non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled flight or pickup time. All other cancellations for transportation made with at least 24 hours notice will be charged a 4% credit card transaction fee on the transportation portion amount of your reservation.
Broadway & Event Tickets
All theater and event tickets are final sales and non-refundable once purchased.
Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Tickets, Museum Tickets, Tickets to Other NYC Attractions, and All Observation Deck Tickets
Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island tickets, museum tickets, tickets to other NYC attractions, and all observation deck tickets, including Top of the Rock, SUMMIT, and the Empire State Building, are non-refundable once reserved. Rescheduling your visit for another day may be possible and is subject to availability.
Helicopter Experiences
Non-refundable if cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled flight. Cancellations based on weather are not acceptable. The helicopter operator will cancel flights only based on unsafe travel conditions. All other cancellations will be charged a 4% credit card transaction fee.
Private Boat Charters / Sailing Experiences
Private boat charters and sailing experiences require 10 days advance notice for a refund, less a 10% cancellation fee. If we cancel due to bad weather, you may reschedule. If you are unable to reschedule, your payment will be fully refunded without a cancellation fee. Bad weather is defined as excessive wind as determined by the captain, temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, an Air Quality Index above 200, and/or a chance of rain greater than 40% lasting more than 30 minutes, confirmed by radar using weather.com as our source. We generally need to wait until the day of the charter, at least two hours prior to the charter, to interpret radar projections.
Dining Reservations & Prepaid Experiences
Dining reservations and prepaid experiences are subject to the individual venue’s cancellation policy.
Horse & Carriage Reservations
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice will receive a full refund, less a 4% credit card processing fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable. Between November 15 and January 7, a minimum of 72 hours notice is required for a full refund, less the 4% credit card processing fee. Between November 15 and January 7, cancellations made with less than 72 hours notice are non-refundable.
Private Shopping Experiences
Private shopping experiences are subject to the individual personal shopper’s cancellation policy. You will be notified of your personal shopper’s cancellation policy at the time of your reservation.
Private Picnic Experiences
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice will receive a full refund, less a 4% credit card processing fee. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable. Weather will be monitored by our staff, and you will be notified with at least 24 hours notice of the chance of rain or extreme temperatures so you have the option to reschedule, cancel, or move the picnic to a more suitable location.
Professional Services
Professional services, including photographers, videographers, musicians, and other hired talent, are eligible for a full refund, less a 4% credit card processing fee, for cancellations made with at least 72 hours notice. Cancellations made with less than 72 hours but at least 24 hours notice are subject to a 50% charge. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are non-refundable.
Rescheduling
Whenever possible, Romancing Manhattan will make reasonable efforts to accommodate requests to reschedule an experience.
Rescheduling requests are subject to availability and may depend on the policies and availability of third-party suppliers involved in the experience.
Certain elements of an experience may not be transferable to a new date if they involve prepaid or non-refundable arrangements.
Late Arrivals
Experiences operate according to a scheduled timeline. Guests who arrive late may experience a shortened tour/experience or the omission of certain elements of the experience.
Whenever possible, our guides, hosts and experience facilitators will make reasonable efforts to adjust the itinerary; however, the full experience may not be possible if guests arrive after the scheduled start time.
Late arrivals do not automatically qualify for refunds or rescheduling.
No-Shows
Guests who fail to appear for a scheduled experience without prior notice may be considered a no-show.
No-shows are generally non-refundable.
Weather and Operational Conditions
Romancing Manhattan Tours experiences typically operate in a variety of weather conditions.
In certain circumstances, severe weather or other operational factors may require adjustments to the itinerary, timing, or specific locations visited.
When necessary, Romancing Manhattan Tours will make reasonable efforts to modify the experience in a way that preserves its overall character and quality.
Supplier Changes or Unforeseen Circumstances
Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control — such as venue closures, supplier availability, or city events — may require adjustments to certain elements of an experience.
When this occurs, Romancing Manhattan Tours will make reasonable efforts to provide suitable alternatives.
Refunds
Refund eligibility depends on the specific cancellation terms associated with the experience booked (as indicated above).
When refunds are applicable, they will generally be processed using the original form of payment.
